Size:     up to 7cm
Patella vulgata

Overview: A well known and abundant mollusc. The conical shell can achieve a length of 7cm, although most of the time they are smaller. The shell has got a series of ridges which start from the top of the shell. They feed on the algae which grows on the rocks.

Where to See: Living Limpets can be found on rocks which get submerged by the tides. Old shells can be found anywhere along the tide line on the shore.
